Structure Optimization of Lip Seals Based on a Mixed Lubrication ModelJia Xiaohong Guo Fei Huang Le Fan Qing Wang Yuming(1.State Key Laboratory of Tribology,Tsinghua University,Beijing 100084,China;2.Guangzhou Mechanical Engineering Research Institute Co.,Ltd,Guangzhou Guangdong 5 10700,China)Abstract:The effects of structure parameters on the reverse pumping rate and friction torque of the radial lip seal wereinvestigated by using a mixed elastohydrodynamic lubrication mode1.The ohogonal array method was used to make 25 nu-tactical experiments plan for five parameters,which were identifed as five control factors.Each factor had five levels.Thesignifcance of each parameter on the reverse pumping rate and friction torque of radial lip seal was evaluated and ordered。

And optimal values of five parameters were suggested.Th e structure optimization of lip seal was provided,and the efective-ness of the method was verified through the comparison with the product used now。
